SERENITY HEALING ARTS
Massage Therapy

Initially trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu and Sports massage, Sarah has combined the techniques of many modalities with her personal intuition and understanding of the workings of the anatomy and energy systems  of her clients to provide individualized therapy.  Many people come to Sarah for work on a specific issue or injury and discover the interconnectedness of their bodies.

While deeply relaxing and energetically integrating, Sarah's treatments are not your typical massage session. Her techniques involve finding restrictions in the body and identifying the source of the impairment. The result is deeply healing session unlike the traditional 'spa' massage.

What types of massage are available?
A customized massage will be designed just for you. Integrative techniques address many conditions including: injury rehabilitation, pre-natal and repetitive stress complaints.
For an additional fee, cannabinoid massage (CBD) is available featuring Sagely Naturals CBD cream.

What is NOT included in a therapeutic massage?
Sex. Storefront "massage parlors" are fronts for prostitution. This confuses the boundaries in a normal massage session. Sadly, most of the people working in those establishments as unlicensed
therapists are trafficked.  If you know of such a place, please contact  humantraffickinghotline.org and report them.
Legitimate Massage Therapists are required to undergo rigorous training and testing before they are licensed or certified. Massage therapists work very hard for their licensure, they are not prostitutes. If you are expecting a sexual massage, you will not find one with a legitimate therapist.

When should I NOT get a massage?
There are certain conditions that are contraindications for massage. Following are some of the major ones:
  • Fever
  • Any type of infectious disease
  • Systemic infections
  • Acute injury
  • Liver and kidney diseases
  • Blood clot
  • Heart Disease
  • Pregnancy complications
  • Open skin lesions or sores (therapist may work around them if localized)
Always alert your massage therapist about any changes in your medical condition. They can work with you to address many conditions and will err on the side of caution when treating you.
What are the benefits of Massage Therapy?
There are many benefits to massage therapy. It can speed healing, increase range of motion, improve circulation and assist the body's natural healing system.  Massage therapy can also help to manage stress, regulate sleep, improve athletic performance and increase well being.
